The term Chromebook has been on everybody’s lips recently. It appears customers want them and manufacturing companies are well aware of this fact and happy to oblige.

To prove the point, speaking with It Pro, a Samsung representative stated the company expects Chromebook usage in UK schools to explode in 2014. Moreover, Sammy is of course interested in replicating its consumer market success, in the educational sector as well.

The representative claims there are over 25,000 Chromebooks currently in use in the UK and apparently 90% of them are Sammy's own, with other pretenders to the throne like Acer, HP, Lenovo and recently Dell being left in the shadows.

Samsung says Chromebooks are popular because they sell for an affordable price and provide efficient security feats and can be used in collaboration between students.

"In 2014, the demand for Chromebooks is expected to quadruple in the UK."

So far, Samsung has only one Chromebook offering available on the market, but a refresh with an Exynos 5 Octa 5320 processor paired with 3GB of RAM is expected to arrive in 2014.
