A new Samsung feature-phone is about to make its debut in Europe via Samsung Germany, the clamshell E1190.

Samsung, one of the handset makers that plans to reach number one spot for the highest amount of mobile phones delivered in 2011, by the end of the year, continues to build entry-level phones.

After conquering the smartphone market with its Galaxy S family, Samsung tries to strengthen its presence on the feature-phone market.

For unknown reasons, it has become usual for the Korean handset manufacturer to debut most of its feature-phone in Germany.

The upcoming E1190 is a basic clamshell that offers dual-band support and limited mobile phone functionality.

The phone comes with a small 1.43-inch CSTN display with 65k colors support and 128 x 128 pixels resolution.

In addition, the clamshell is powered by a standard 800 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide users with up to 8.6 hours of talk time or up to 570 hours of standby time.

It appears that the phone is aimed at consumers who are looking for phones with basic features, but long-lasting battery.

Disproportionate and unimpressive, Samsung E1190 measures 88 x 44 x 18,9 mm. However, the clamshell can be considered a very light handset at only 71g (battery included).

When it comes to software, the E1190 comes bundled with Fake call and Mobile tracker apps, as well as various PIM functions.

The handset's phonebook can store up to 1,000 contacts, as well as 100 calendar notes and 500 SMS messages.

Furthermore, Samsung states that depending on the availability of the network operator or service provider the hardware and software branding can differentiate, so expect changes to the standard specs sheet.

No word on the phone's price tag or release date yet, but Samsung is likely to launch the phone in Germany in the next few days.
