Although manufacturers and movie studios alike seem to trumpet 3D with every change they get, the truth of the matter is that most users out there still aren't convinced by this technology, so, in order for 3D to pickup, these type of solutions has to become more mainstream, Samsung understanding this and dropping the price of their SSG-P2100T 3D starter kit.

Available throughout Amazon.com and other online retailers, the SSG-P2100T 3D starter kit is made up of two pairs of active shutter 3D glasses and a 3D Blu-ray movie (Monsters Vs. Aliens Blu-ray title to be more exact), this kit being compatible with a wide range of Samsung HDTVs and Blue-ray players, such as products in the C7000 and BD-C6900 series.

Other Samsung HDTV and Blu-ray units are also compatible with this kit as long as they come with a built-in 3D emitter since the kit doesn't come with such a device, although some Amazon users state they made the kit work with HDTVs built by other manufacturers.

But the best part about the SSG-P2100T 3D starter is its new price, since this now retails for anywhere in between $229.99 and $249.99, depending on where you look, down from the $350 that Samsung asked for it when it was first introduced, back in July of this year.

As far as availability is concerned, a quick search through a few online stores revealed us these are usually in stock, although we could find a few retailers that said this product had been discontinued, so this is probably the reason why we are seeing the SSG-P2100T 3D for as low as this.

Discontinued or not, the price is just about right if you want to jump in the 3D bandwagon and already own one of Samsung's compatible HDTV and Blu-ray players, so I advise you to go for it while it is still available. (via 3D-display-info)
