Shortly after Amazon has started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Samsung officially announced the upcoming availability of the slate beginning November 13.

According to Samsung, the 16GB Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus will be available in the United States via Best Buy, Amazon, Tiger Direct, Fry’s and other select retailers for $399.99 (288 EUR).

Although Amazon introduced the tablet on October 20, Samsung mentioned that pre-orders will begin October 23 with select partners.

Furthermore, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus will be delivered with Peel Smart Remote TV application, which allows users to instantly find and watch their favorite TV shows and discover new shows based on their preferences, all with the tap of a screen.

The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus optimized with the innovative Peel application will enable users to connect seamlessly to view their favorite TV shows. Our partnership with Peel further builds on Samsung’s convergence strategy to create enhanced user experiences,” said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Mobile.

With built-in infrared capabilities, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus can be used to control home theater and TV setup, hence users will no longer need additional hardware or cables for TV control functionality.

The application also displays customized programming recommendations, so that users won't need to scroll through standard channel-listing grids.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Pluse is 9.96mm thin and weighs only 345g (battery included), providing users with a portable and rich multimedia experience on a 7-inch display.

The slate is powered by Google's Android Honeycomb platform, complemented by a 1.2GHz dual core processor. It also packs 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).

The successor of the old Galaxy Tab 7, Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is one of the few tablets to offer support for GSM voice communication, SMS, and MMS.
