The next-generation DROID Prime Android smartphone has just been spotted at Bluetooth SIG with CDMA radio.

Although the phone's specs details are still a mystery, at least it's confirmation that the phone will be exclusively available from Verizon Wireless.

The phone shows up as Samsung SCH-i515, which is the same model number that was rumored in the first place.

Given the fact that Samsung's devices for Verizon usually receive the “SCH” model number, such as the DROID Charge, also known as SCH-i510, then we might as well assume that the SCH-i515, aka DROID Prime will be released by the Big Red.

The Samsung Mobile Phone SCH-I515 is CDMA phone with Bluetooth wireless technology. The device has integrated Bluetooth Version 3.0 technology, which allows users to connect wirelessly to optional, compatible hands-free accessories such as Bluetooth technology enabled headsets and car kits. The bluetooth in this phone supports A2DP , AVRCP , GAVDP , HFP1.5 , HSP , OPP, PBAP, HID.”

It is also worth mentioning that Verizon ditched Samsung's Galaxy S II own branded device in favor a much better one.

However, the DROID Prime is slated for a late October release, which might give other carriers an edge over Verizon, at least for a month.

As we already reported, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint are already preparing to announce their variants of Galaxy S II this week.

On the other hand, Verizon will release the DROID Bionic on September 8, just in time to counter the carrier-branded Galaxy S II releases from other operators in the country.

Those who are familiar with the DROID Prime should know that this will probably be the first smartphone to run Google's upcoming Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.

The device is intended to rival Apple's iPhone 5, which is expected to be released around the same timeframe.
