Samsung has just unveiled the D880 DuoS mobile phone. At first sight, the handset looks like it has nothing special to offer, but specifications show it is a dual SIM device, a feature which has proved to be highly popular until now.

Most mobile phones that include dual SIM slots for the owner to use two cards at the same time come from China. Because of this, it might be surprising to see Samsung take the idea and put it in one of its devices. Still, the producer has high chances of reaching high profits with this model, as it provides a fairly useful feature. There are many people carrying two mobile phones or switching SIM cards to place affordable calls, depending on the data plans that different operators provide.

Samsung D880 DuoS makes it possible to use services such as WAP, MMS and email as well, from two carriers at the same time. There is no additional action needed, as the user can receive calls targeted to each of the two cards, at all times. They can even choose to set different ringtones for each of the SIM cards and know exactly which phone number they are responding to.

The phone looks just like the classic ones coming from this handset producer, which is a good thing. The slider is stylish and elegant in a traditional way that does not hint at its impressive features. Only the battery has been replaced with a 1200V one, as supporting two SIM cards at the same time can drain the life out of a normal battery in just a few hours.

The phone's sizes are larger than the average, but still comfortable, at 104 x 51 x 18.9 mm. There is also a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, which is supposed to take captures at a quality above average. Connectivity is available through Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0, which makes this phone earn a place among the most evolved cellulars out there.

Samsung D880 DuoS will be available towards the end of October, this year, at the retail price of USD 700.
