Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless was already known to plan the launch of some new, highly appealing smartphones in the near future, and more info on the matter has emerged. According to leaked documents from the company, November 11th should bring to its airwaves handsets like Samsung Continuum and Samsung Zeal, along with the Motorola CITRUS.

The Samsung Continuum i400 is seen as the most interesting device of the three, as it is a Galaxy S phone that sports a dual screen design, while running Google's Android 2.2 Froyo OS on a 1GHz Hummingbird processor.

In addition to the main 3.4-inch Super AMOLED display boasting a (480 x 800 pixels) WVGA resolution, the phone comes with a smaller, 1.8" 96x480 'ticker' Super AMOLED display, which was meant to show alerts and messages.

The purpose of the second display is that it shows important notifications without consuming too much battery, as lighting up the large screen would do.

The specifications list of this smartphone also includes a 5MP photo snapper with LED flash, auto focus and 720p video recording, 2GB of internal memory, 384MB of RAM and 512MB of Flash memory.

The mobile phone also comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, EVDO Rev A, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jack, while packing an 8GB microSDHC card pre-installed.

Motorola CITRUS WX455 was made out of 25% post-consumer recycled plastic, and runs Android 2.1 on a 3-inch touchscreen display (320 x 240 pixels QVGA resolution).

The handset's specs list also includes a 3-megapixel photo snapper, Wi-Fi, EVDO Rev A, Bluetooth, and a microSD memory card slot with a 2GB included in the package from the start.

As for Samsung Zeal, it comes with an E-Ink QWERTY keyboard, complemented by a 2.6-inch touchscreen display that delivers a 240 x 320 pixels (QVGA) resolution.

At the same time, this device sports a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot. Basically, the handset is similar with the Samsung Alias 2.

Unfortunately, the leaked documents, which emerged over at phone Arena, do not offer info on the phones' price tags, though info on this should emerge in the near future.
