RadioShack has just confirmed that it will be among the first major retailers to offer the Samsung Conquer 4G smartphone on August 21.

The cheapest 4G Android smartphone will be available for purchase via RadioShack beginning August 21 for only $69.99 with qualifying two-year agreement.

Although the phone will be launched via Sprint, the carrier offers the smartphone for $99.99 with the same two-year agreement.

Potential customers may take into consideration Walmart's deal, as the major retailer announced last week that it will offers Sprint's Samsung Conquer 4G for free with new two-year contracts.

According to RadioShack's PR officials: “Beginning Sunday, August 21, RadioShack will offer the Samsung Conquer 4G from Sprint for only $69.99 with qualifying 2-year agreement/feature. Customers can visit a local RadioShack to take advantage of the offer... For those looking to save on their purchase, RadioShack’s Trade & Save program allows customers to apply the value of their old phone toward their new phone.”

Samsung Conquer 4G is powered by Google's Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system and will be delivered with Sprint ID service, which offers users a plethora of apps, widgets, shortcuts, ringtones and wallpapers, especially designed to meet users’ needs and interests.

The smartphone is equipped with a single core 1GHz processor and features a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen.

In addition, the bar handset sports a mediocre 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and zoom, as well as 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video chats.

As expected, the Conquer 4G features dual-mode 3G/4G support and offers 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot feature by allowing up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices to connect on the Sprint's 3G or 4G network.

Other highlights of the smartphone include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and built-in GPS, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to a 32GB, 2GB card included) and Stereo Bluetooth.
