South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has announced plans to deliver the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform update to no less than four devices on T-Mobile’s network in the United States.

The company has promised the update for devices on the airwaves of other wireless carriers in the country as well a few weeks ago, but left Magenta out at the time.

Today, however, the leading handset vendor confirmed that the latest flavor of Google’s Android mobile operating system will be pushed out to some of the latest devices to hit this operator’s shelves.

Among them, we can count the Samsung Galaxy S II (SGH-t989), the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G (SGH-t769), the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (SGH-t869), and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (SGH-t859).

Unfortunately, no specific release date for the software update was made official as of now, though it might not be too long before that happens.

Previous rumors suggested that Samsung and T-Mobile might have been planning the release of Ice Cream Sandwich for the carrier’s Galaxy S II as of May 14th.

While that date did not pan out, it’s still encouraging that the mobile phone maker officially confirmed that it was working on making the new OS flavor available for this device.

Back in April, Samsung announced plans to push the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to a variety of handsets and tablet PCs on the networks of various carriers in the US, but said nothing of T-Mobile’s devices.

“We are in close communication with T-Mobile to ensure that eligible devices are upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the coming months and will provide updates as we have additional details to share,” Samsung said at the time.

On Samsung’s support website, users will find a list of all Samsung devices in the US that are eligible to receiving the Ice Cream Sandwich update, including those on AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and now T-Mobile.
