Although Samsung initially stated that Galaxy S III would come with support for 42Mbps speeds in the UK, the company has backtracked on the original statement and announced the phone is limited to HSDPA (21Mbps) speeds.

The folks at CNET reached Samsung a few days ago and asked them whether or not the Galaxy S III coming in the UK will support DC-HSPA speeds.

Even though the handset vendor confirmed yesterday that the smartphone would indeed come with DC-HSPA support, it has now come forward with another statement apologizing for mixing the phone’s technical specifications.

Currently, O2 is the only carrier in the UK to offer DC-HSPA support, so it would make sense for Samsung not to introduce a Galaxy S III with this capability in the UK.

However, the company also mentioned that the smartphone would come with faster HSPA and LTE support in other markets.
