It appears that Samsung has no plans to release the Galaxy Nexus smartphone in India. Instead, the South Korean company will launch one or more devices that will be announced tomorrow during the “Unpacked 2012” event.

Samsung India has confirmed via Twitter that the Galaxy Nexus will not be launched in the country and has advised Android enthusiasts to “watch this space for the next big thing.”

Although the decision makes sense due to the fact the Galaxy S III is just around the corner, it will be interesting to see how fast the device will be introduced on the market.

For those unfamiliar with the Galaxy Nexus, this is aimed at developers and is supposed to be among the first to receive software updates. The handset is shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, but is upgradable to Android 4.0.4.
