Although previous rumors claimed that Samsung Galaxy S III was not worthy or not powerful enough to receive an Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade, it appears that the South Korean company has other plans.

Instead of disappointing its faithful customers, Samsung has decided to offer the highly anticipated update to Galaxy S III owners as well. According the latest info, the update should arrive no later than the end of March, SamMobile reports.

The information comes via Samsung Mobile Arabia official Facebook webpage, as those who handle the account responded positively to a question regarding the availability of Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Samsung Galaxy S III.

Basically, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S III will receive the long-awaited KitKat update in UAE by the end of this month, though no additional details regarding the exact release date have been disclosed yet.

Even though the information comes through official channels, I’d say we should take it with a grain of salt until the actual rollout of the update kicks off or Samsung releases an official statement regarding KitKat for Galaxy S III.

For the time being, there’s no word on KitKat for Galaxy S III’s availability in other countries, but we will keep an eye out for additional info, so stay tuned.
