The handset maker claims it is now investigating the reported issues

We reported last week that Samsung allegedly halted the deployment of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S III due to the high number of issues that had been reported in the first days since launch.

Unfortunately, at that time, we did not have any confirmation from Samsung, but many Galaxy S III owners reported they had yet to receive the update, which led us to believe the handset maker interrupted the rollout of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Well, it appears that the information was accurate, as SamMobile reports Samsung issued a short statement confirming previous reports.

“As we are currently investigating the reported issues with Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the upgrading service has been temporarily suspended. We are committed to providing customers with the best possible mobile experience, and will ensure to resume the upgrading service at the earliest possibility,” Samsung Mobile UK.

For those Galaxy S III owners who are now lucky enough to not upgrade to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, here are the most common issues experienced by those who did update:

- Wake up lag; - Random freezes; - Huge battery drain; - Bluetooth Audio issues during playback in car; - Stuttering music playback with stock Samsung music app; - Device freezes as soon a call is received (black screen issue); - Poor RAM management (very difficult to multitask); - Wi-Fi connectivity issues.

While Galaxy S III owners won't be able to upgrade to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the moment, it's a good thing Samsung has pulled the update and is now working to address all these issues.

All in all, it's hard to understand how Samsung managed to botch this release so bad, especially that there are so many issues with the update. Hopefully, it will be better after they iron out these problems.
