A list containing all Samsung smartphones and tablets that will receive major software updates leaked a few months ago.

Samsung Omnia W was listed as well, but the smartphone had been confirmed to remain on software version 7.10.8107.7.

However, WindowsPhoneItaly reports that Samsung has just confirmed that all its Windows Phone 7.5 handsets, including the Omnia W, would receive the hotly-anticipated Windows Phone 7.8 update.

According to Samsung Italy, the times of rollout and terms will be decided by Microsoft. Windows Phone 7.8 update is expected to arrive in early 2013, though no exact release date has been confirmed yet.
