South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is still set to bring the Windows Phone 8-based ATIV S smartphone to the market before the end of this year, it seems.

Following a series of reports that the device might have been delayed to January or even February next year, the company confirmed to WPCentral that this wouldn’t happen.

In fact, the company reportedly said that the smartphone is still on track for the end of the year, at least in Canada, where Rogers will add it to its offering.

ATIV S was the first Windows Phone 8 smartphone to become official, as Samsung unveiled it during the IFA 2012 show in Berlin.

However, while Nokia and HTC have already brought their new handsets to shelves, Samsung hasn’t managed to do so as of yet.
