South Korean handset maker Samsung reported earlier this month that it had sold no less than 3 million Galaxy Note II units.

A few weeks after the original announcement, SammyHub reports Samsung now claims Galaxy Note II sales exceeded 5 million units.

However, the impressive number includes the amount of supplied units and not the actual number of sold units.

In comparison, the original Samsung Galaxy Note achieved the 5 million units milestone in about 5 months, while the latest Galaxy S model hit 30 million shipped units a few weeks ago.

Samsung Galaxy Note II ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.
