You might recall the Samsung Chromebook 2 has been made available for pre-order and the first items were supposed to arrive in retail locations starting next week.

But it appears eager customers looking to get their hands on the new Chromebook 2 will have to wait a little longer because Samsung won’t be making the device available in the US until the end of May, says BetaNews.

No reason was given for the delay, but shoppers ordering from Amazon have been reportedly receiving emails saying the Chromebook 2 will start shipping out as late as May 15.

Could there be a production problem? It might be a real possibility, but since we’re lacking any official information from Samsung customers will just have to wait for next month to come to start receiving their orders.

The Samsung Chromebook 2 series comes bundling an Exynos octa-core CPU fitted with 4GB of RAM, 16GB SSD and a battery is said to last up to eight hours of juice.

Samsung is expected to make available two variants of Chromebooks 2 models, one with an 11.6-inch screen and the other with a 13.3-inch screen.

The 11.6-inch version offers 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, while the 13.3-inch one goes as far as to offer full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels).
