Yesterday Samsung announced the upcoming availability of yet another dual-SIM feature-phone, the Champ Deluxe DUOS.

Shortly after Samsung’s announcement, the phone hit shelves in India. Even though the Korean handset manufacturer suggested a retail price of Rs 4790 (100 USD or 75 EUR) for the Champ Deluxe DUOS, major retailer Flipkart is now offering the handset for only Rs 3925 (80 USD or 60 EUR).

The latest Champ series phone features Samsung’s TouchWiz 2.0 Lite user interface and a decent 2.8-inch touchscreen display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 262k colors support.

The handset comes pre-loaded with deep social networking integration via native Facebook and Twitter apps, as well as ChatOn Multi IM capabilities.

With ChatOn users will be able to communicate with their friends and families regardless of the platform used. The application fully supports other platform, including iOS, bada OS, Android and BlackBerry.

It is also worth mentioning that Samsung Champ Deluxe DUOS is delivered with Hindi language support, as well as other instant messenger apps such as Yahoo, MSN and Gtalk.

Samsung Champ Deluxe DUOS integrates a dual standby feature that allows users to keep both SIM cards at once. Switching between the two SIM cards can be easily done via a dedicated key and doesn’t require users to reboot their phones.

Other highlights of the phone include: a 1.3-megapixel camera with video recording, FM radio, Bluetooth support, and a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery.

Consumers are increasingly using their mobile phones to share files, data and music in addition to accessing SNS from their phones. The large display of the Samsung Champ Deluxe Duos and its TouchWiz interface provide a superlative mobile experience to consumers while dual SIM support ensures that users get maximum benefit by choosing the relevant tariff plans and at the same time separate their personal life from their professional life,” said Ranjit Yadav, country head, mobile and IT, Samsung India.
