Samsung has just added a new feature-phone to its Ch@t family, as the handset maker announced the launch of its Samsung Ch@t 222 device in India.

The phone can be purchased in India for Rs.3449 (about $77) without contract and will be available in all Samsung stores and authorized sellers across country.

Samsung Ch@t 222 is the fifth Ch@t phone introduced by the Korean manufacturer, after the B3410W Ch@t, Ch@t 350, Ch@t 322 and Ch@t 335 were released in the last year.

It looks like Indians are very fond of dual-SIM phones and Samsung took that into consideration, as the Ch@t 222 offers users dual-SIM capability.

Just like its predecessors, the affordable dual-SIM phone features enhanced support for popular social networking and email services, such as Facebook and Twitter.

Also known as Samsung GT-E2222, the phone also supports dual-SIM standby functionality, along with DNSe sound, Push email and Instant Messaging.

The Ch@t 222 comes with a 2.2-inch touch display with 220 x 176 pixels resolution support and a full portrait QWERTY keyboard that makes typing a breeze.

In addition, the dual-SIM handset features a sub-par VGA camera with video recording support, built-in browser, music player, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, FM Radio with recording support, as well as 43 MB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 8GB).

The handset measures 109.5 x 61.78 x 11.95 mm and weighs 90g (battery included).

Furthermore, the phone also comes with headset with 3D effects, which provides music lovers with a smooth multimedia experience.

According to Samsung, the phone's 1,000mAh battery should provide users with up to 11 hours of talk time or up to 550 hours of standby time.

Although India is the first time to get the Ch@t 222, it is expected that the dual-SIM phone will be launched in additional countries soon.
