Given the fact that it is, after all, one of the biggest promoters of the 3D Home Entertainment concept, it should come as no surprise that Korean company Samsung also brought quite a few new 3D LED HDTVs at CES 2011, all of which boast plenty of advanced display, as well as Smart TV capabilities.

As Samsung informs us, their 2011 lineup includes more than 40 new models with screen sizes from 19-inches to 65-inches and providing a wide array of features, such as 3D capabilities and improved, advanced smart TV features.

Since we're on the topic of 3D HDTVs, we'll start by mentioning the brand-new LED D8000 series, that packs a 240Hz refresh rate, 2 millisecond motion picture response time (MPRT) and improved LED backlight scanning, all crammed-up in a 0.2-inch brushed metal bezel.

The models from this new series come with Samsung’s new 3D glasses and Touch Control that can also stream TV programs to its built-in 3” LCD screen, while also sporting a built-in Wi-Fi connection and many convenient ways to manage and display content through Samsung’s Smart Hub portal.

Next in line comes the LED D7000 series, that offers an Auto 3D Format Setup feature, meaning that automatically detects the encoding format (i.e. side-by-side and top-bottom) when playing 3D content.

Beside being super-slim as well, the D7000 series also packs backlight scanning technology and Auto Motion Plus, plus a 3D Peak Algorithm for enhanced 3D image quality.

Samsung also came up with a special offering for users on a budget, namely the LED D6400 Series TV, that includes 120Hz 3D LED TVs featuring double-rate frame transition technology and other advanced features, all at an affordable price point (around a third of previous models).

“As we enter a new era of immersive and inclusive entertainment, Samsung has redefined the visual elements that will make our TVs the centerpiece of any room,” said Sangchul Lee, senior vice president, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

“People want to stay connected to the relationships and information that are important to them, and our latest line-up reflects a vision where smarter technology virtually and physically connects users through shared moments in the comfort of their homes,” added Mr. Lee.

Quite obviously, given the fact that we're talking about a pretty huge lineup here, pricing and availability details have not yet been provided, but we'll have to admit that Samsung really has plenty of interesting surprises in store for its customers over the course of 2011.
