Although Virgin Mobile has just introduced the Samsung Galaxy S II, the carrier is continuously adding new mobile phones to its portfolio.

The latest device that is expected to be launched by Virgin Mobile is known as Samsung C414, but the Canadian carrier will release it as Samsung Swift.

It appears that Virgin Mobile held a special contest a month ago and requested its customers to help them come up with an attractive name for the clamshell phone.

Obviously, a prize was also involved in the form of a $3,000 worth Piaggio Fly 150 scooter manufactured in 2010.

Oh well, it seems that the winner of the prize submitted the Samsung Swift name, so the low-end feature-phone will soon be launched under this label.

Virgin Mobile's contest for renaming the handset is somewhat understandable, as the phone is already available in Canada, as Samsung C414, from most carriers, including Rogers, Mobilicity, TELUS, Videotron, and WIND.

There is nothing special about the upcoming Samsung Swift, so customers should expect only the basic capabilities of a mobile phone.

The Samsung Swift is a compact, sleek and classic flip phone that is easy to use and has the minimal tool that a customer may need.

Surprisingly, the phone comes with 3G+ support and features global roaming to more than 200 countries. The clamshell measures 49.2 x 98.5 x 17.4 mm and weighs 95g (battery included).

Furthermore, the Swift comes with a small 2.2-inch main display with 65k colors support and 320 x 240 pixels resolution.

In addition, Samsung Swift sports a 2.-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, as well as 120 MB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB).

According to an internal leaked document, Samsung Swift is expected to be launched by Virgin Mobile on July 21.
