Samsung has just become the number one smartphones vendor in Q3 with sales of almost 28 million units, well ahead of Apple's 17.1 million units.

Although Samsung stated that its record sales were driven by strong sales of the Galaxy S smartphones, the Korean handset manufacturer leads smartphone market sales with its bada devices in several countries, including Russia.

Even though Nokia is still number one feature-phones vendor, Samsung is determined to continue to deliver basic handsets on emerging markets.

The company's Champ series is a lineup of feature-phones, which was debuted two years ago when Samsung C3300K Champ hit shelves.

According to the guys over at SammyHub, the handset manufacturer is about to refresh the Champ series with yet another feature-phone, the Samsung C3330 Champ 2.

Built on C3300K Champ's popularity, the Champ 2 comes with a revamped design and very little hardware and software improvements.

In this regard, it is worth mentioning that the Champ 2 comes with a newer 2.0 version of TouchWiz Lite user interface and a slightly better camera.

While the original Champ comes with a 1.3-megapixel camera, the Champ 2 sports a 2-megapixel camera on the back.

In addition, the Champ 2 allows users to upgrade its storage via microSD memory cards up to 16GB, whereas the Champ only accepts memory cards up to 8GB.

On the other hand, the handsets are delivered with similar 2.4-inch resistive touchscreen displays, which support 262k colors and 240 x 320 pixels resolution.

Furthermore, the C3330 Champ 2 sports GPRS / EDGE class 12, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, microUSB 2.0 (High-Speed), and 20MB of internal memory.

Samsung C3330 Champ 2 is expected to be released in the next few weeks with ChatON, IM and Samsung Apps support.

No details regarding the phone's price tag have emerged yet, but the Champ 2 should go for under $100 (71 EUR).
