Today, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung announced the launch of a new touchscreen-enabled handset, the Samsung C3300K Champ. The new device is said to land on the market as a rather affordable phone, and is expected to become very popular among mobile phone users, even more popular than one of the company's bestsellers, the Samsung S5230 Star.

The new Samsung C3300K Champ comes to the market with a 2.4-inch resistive touchscreen display that boasts a QVGA resolution, sports a compact design, and runs the company's TouchWiz Lite, with widgets arranged in a 3x3 grid on the homescreen. In addition, the device includes social networking integration, something that is part of the TouchWiz experience, along with Samsung Apps integration and Java support, it seems.

The specifications list of the new mobile phone from Samsung also includes a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 8GB of additional storage space, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 2.1 and USB connectivity options, as well as support for quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE. On the back, the handset packs a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, which sports video recording capabilities.

A 1000mAh battery is what brings life to Samsung C3300K Champ, providing users with up to 12 hours of talk time, or with up to 660 hours of standby time. The handset comes with multimedia capabilities too, packing both radio functionality and music player, along with 3D sound effects through its stereo speakers. In other words, the handset comes with all the features budget-conscious users are looking for, not to mention that it looks pretty appealing too.

The mobile phone is expected to become available for purchase sometime in June, when Samsung should launch it in developing markets in Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Europe. Put on sale as an ultra-affordable touchscreen handset, the Samsung C3300K Champ will arrive in various color versions, including deep black, espresso brown, sweet pink or chic white.
