Today, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has unveiled a new color variant of the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone in its homeland market, namely Merlot Red.

The smartphone is available on the network of SK Telecom in the country, with the S Pen colored accordingly, and with LTE-A connectivity inside, Samsung Tomorrow announced.

At the moment, Galaxy Note 3 is available for purchase in four color flavors in South Korea, including Jet Black, Classic White, and Blush Pink.

As SammyHub notes, South Korea is the second market to receive the new color variant of the mobile phone, in addition to China, which is set to get the Rose Gold White model before the end of this month.

Despite the fact that it sports the aforementioned Merlot Red case, paired with similarly colored S Pen and leather back, the new Galaxy Note 3 version features the same hardware specifications as the previously launched iterations.

This includes the 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen that can deliver a full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution, as well as the 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside (an octa-core version is also available, packing quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 CPUs).

The smartphone also features 3GB of RAM inside, along with 16GB / 32GB / 64GB of internal memory options, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 63GB of additional storage space.

Furthermore, it comes with Adreno 330 graphics and with a Li-Ion 3200 mAh battery that can offer up to 21 hours of talk time on 3G networks, or up to 420 hours of standby time.

On the back, the new mobile phone sports a 13-megapixel camera with support for full HD video recording, paired with a 2MP front camera for video calling.

Galaxy Note 3 runs under Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right from the start, with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI loaded on top. It is expected to receive an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat in early 2014.
