The company decided to go after Apple in other markets

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung plans on putting an end to the legal battle it started against Apple in its homeland market, and will no longer pursue the blocking of iPhone devices in the country on alleged patent infringement.

The iPhone 4S has just become available for purchase on the local market, but the handset vendor is now interested in having it removed from shelves, it seems.

“We concluded that we should engage in legal battles with Apple only in the global market, but not in order to gain more market share in Korea,” Samsung reportedly stated.

Samsung owns most of the smartphone market in South Korea, and its latest high-end Android devices have proven far better selling than the Apple iPhone in the local market.

However, the same does not happen in most markets around the world, and Samsung will not put an end to the quarrel with the Cupertino company too soon, unless they come to some sorts of an agreement, of course.
