Korean mobile phone maker Samsung announced today the upcoming availability of its Samsung B5702, a handsets that comes to the market with dual-standby features, which means that it allows users to include two SIM cards in it at the same time. The dual-SIM interface of the Samsung B5702 has been enhanced, and the device also includes new visual indicators. In addition, this would be the first dual-SIM mobile phone that comes to the market with dual quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support.

The Samsung B5702 was spotted in the wild during the MWC 2009 show in Barcelona, yet it hasn't managed to attract too many eyes given the large number of high-end devices that were present at the exposition.

What the new phone has to offer is a 2.4-inch TFT QVGA display that comes with support for up to 256K colors, while also including two LED lights that indicate which of the two SIM cards is being used. In addition, it also sports a dedicated side key that allows its owners to choose which SIM card they would like to use for communication, eliminating the need of rebooting the device.

Courtesy of the phone's dual quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, users would be able to enjoy data traffic on either one of the SIM cards. In addition, the device also includes multimedia functions like MP3 and MPEG4 players, FM radio with RDS, or a 3-megapixel camera with auto focus. The specification list shows Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP and a document viewer as well.

The phone maker also announced that the new Samsung B5702 would be released into several markets, and that the first of them would be Russia. The mobile phone will become available in the country in May and is expected to feature a price tag of about $420 (or 310 EUR).
