The Korean mobile phone maker has recently unveiled a new rugged handset, namely the durable Samsung B2100 Xplorer. The new device comes with features and specifications that are meant to make it a great option for those users who are fond of adventures. The new Samsung B2100 Xplorer is able to offer them tri-band GSM (850/900/1900MHz) connectivity, as well as support for EDGE data.

According to Samsung, the new B2100 Xplorer has been developed to meet Military Standard 810F compliance for durability, and it offers resistance to dust, bumps, scratches and moist. In addition, the new mobile phone also comes with a comfortable grip and includes anti-shock urethane material, which is meant to make the device withstand harsh outdoor environments.

The new Samsung B2100 Xplorer also packs water submersible features, being able to resist up to 30 minutes submerged in one-meter-deep waters. Even if it sports a rugged form factor, the new handset is only 0.7 inches thick, which would make it the thinnest submersible phone on the market.

Samsung has also included its new B2100 Xplorer handset with powerful speakers, as well as with noise cancellation technology. In addition, the phone sports an LED flash light that should prove quite useful during dark nights.

A 1.3 MP photo snapper packed inside the device is meant to allow users to shoot photos while in the wild, also enabling them to record videos, which can be easily stored on a microSD memory card, as the handset provides support for additional storage space as well. The integrated FM Radio could also come in handy when not too far from civilization.

The new Samsung B2100 Xplorer will come to the market in April, and users from Germany and other European countries should be able to purchase it then. The handset is expected to come to the Romanian market with a price tag of 500 RON (around 116 Euros).
