Samsung Galaxy S 4 is officially a hard to come by smartphone, as supply has been limited from day one.

Although the South Korean handset maker warned customers that this would happen, this doesn’t make remove Samsung fans frustrations over the fact that they still can’t get their favorite device.

It appears that getting a Samsung Galaxy S 4 in Australia was quite an adventure, as it was the case in other parts of the world as well.

AusDroid reports some carriers already sold all their Galaxy S 4 stocks last weekend and are now waiting for their next shipments which are set to arrive in about 1-2 weeks from now.

Optus recommends customers who wish to purchase the Galaxy S 4 on its airwaves to order it via online. However, the carrier states that expected delivery for all orders is 12-15 business days.

This is one of the first carriers to have depleted its Galaxy S 4 stock probably due to very low supply, unusually high demand or a bit of both.

According to Optus, there’s no info available on when they will receive another shipment of Galaxy S 4 units, which is why the carrier does not want to confirm a certain date for the smartphone’s availability.

Basically, they will have when it arrives in stock, but no one knows when that will happen. Samsung Galaxy S 4 might still be available in some regions at various operators and retailers, but availability is extremely scarce overall.

In order to shed some light over the limited availability of Galaxy S 4, Samsung issued the following statement:

“Due to the popularity of the GALAXY S4, we expect demand might exceed supply in the early stages of sale. We will, however, have a continuous supply of stock coming through over the coming weeks and encourage consumers to move quickly in placing their orders to ensure they get their hands on the GALAXY S4 as soon as possible.”
