Samsung CC03 is another new phone from the Anycall series of the South Korean producer. Launched in Hong Kong at the same time with Samsung J708, the CC03 is a really basic featured device, therefore it comes at a more than affordable price.

Unlike the J708 model, which is a slider, Samsung CC03 is a candybar that measures 103.5 x 44 x 14.9 millimeters (4.07 x 1.73 x 0.58 inches) and weighs only 69.5 grams (2.45 ounces), hence it's one of the lightest candybars ever created. The phone comes with a simple and easy to use keypad, plus a pretty small CSTN display with support for 65K colors and 128 x 128 pixels. Moreover, Samsung CC03 features dual-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 MHz), 16 polyphonic ring tones, a multi-functional phone book that can store up to 300 contacts, speakerphone, SMS function, T9 (predictive text input), and that's about it. The phone is powered by a 750 mAh Li-Ion battery capable of providing a talk-time of up to 2.8 hours and a stand-by time of up to 180 hours. It's not really great, but at the weight the handset has, the existence of a "weak" battery is somehow normal.

Samsung CC03 can be bought for the price of 499 Hong Kong dollars, meaning around $65 or 40 Euros. This price makes the new CC03 a perfect choice for consumers who only need a handset that can make and receive calls as well as send text messages. After all, this is what a mobile phone's "role" is in the first place.

While users from Hong Kong can buy Samsung CC03 right now, there are no details yet about the phone's availability in other countries. Anyway, China will probably also get the candybar, together with India and other markets where entry-level devices are usually successful.
