Korean handset manufacturer has just announced that its upcoming bada Developer Day event will be held in London, UK, on November 3.

The event will focus on several hands-on sessions with the latest bada 2.0 devices, including the Wave III, as well as on demos of bada apps and how they improve the user's experience.

Following the launch of bada 2.0 operating system in August, Samsung plans to support developers and brands even more, so that they can incorporate bada 2.0 into their applications.

According to Samsung, all those who attend to the event will receive an introduction to bada 2.0 and a demo of the highlights and improved features of the latest version of the platform, including multi-tasking, Near Field Communication (NFC), voice recognition and Wi-Fi Direct.

In addition, the attendees will receive more details about Samsung's bada 2.0 Power App Race, the global competition that kicked-off almost two weeks ago.

Competitors will have the chance to win one of the 10 prizes that will be rewarded with $3,000,000 prize package, including $1,000,000 in cash, for the first 10 apps that achieve 100,000 downloads via Samsung Apps.

We support multiple operative systems through our spectrum of devices, and whilst we are keen to continue working with partners including Google and Microsoft, bada will continue to be a big focus for us. We are committed to supporting developers who create apps for the bada platform, and will continue to provide the right tools for them to do so,” said Simon Stanford, Head of Mobile for Samsung UK & Ireland.

Samsung also announced that it will launch a “high profile UK competition” during bada 2.0 Developer Day with a cash prize of £100,000, which will be awarded to the most innovative initial local concept idea for an app.

Furthermore, Samsung will also award a runner-up prize of £50,000 and will announce the winners at Appsworld next month.
