There have been quite a few rumors surrounding the next Galaxy S5 variant to be released by Samsung, especially the LTE-A version that was supposed to go official in South Korea.

Well, it looks like we can finally put those rumors to rest, as Samsung has just unveiled the so-called Galaxy S5 LTE-A. The bad news is that the enhanced version of the Galaxy S5 will only be available for purchase in South Korea.

Samsung does not have any plans on bringing the Galaxy S5 LTE-A to other countries, but let's hope that one way, we will get a much better version of the Galaxy S5 in other regions as well.

However, for the time being, customers in South Korea will be able to pick this one up via SK Telecom carrier for 940,500 won outright, which is about $920 or €680.

Samsung has also announced that the Galaxy S5 LTE-A will be available for purchase through KT and LG U+ customers as well, but no specific release dates have been shared yet.

Although the Galaxy S5 LTE-A is quite expensive, the handset comes with specs that haven't been included in a Samsung smartphone until now. For example, this is the first Android smartphone launched by Samsung to boast a QHD display.

Even though it comes with a similar 5.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, the Galaxy S5 LTE-A screen supports 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. The Galaxy S5 LTE-A display offers 90% Adobe RGB and 100,000:1 contrast ratio.

Another major improvement is the chipset, as the Galaxy S5 LTE-A is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, unlike the standard model, which packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU.

The enhanced version of Galaxy S5 comes with an Adreno 420 graphics processing unit and no less than 3GB of RAM, whereas the original model packs only 2GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A features IP67 certification for dust and water resistance and comes with the same fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor as the standard variant.

Furthermore, the flagship smartphone boasts a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording, while in the front, there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

As the name suggests, the smartphone comes with support for LTE-Advanced, which allows for download data speeds of up to 225Mbps.

Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box and it will be available in multiple color options, including Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue, Copper Gold, Sweet Pink and Glam Red.
