Samsung Korea announced the release of a new clamshell,
Samsung T719. The handset has an impressive sleek-and-slim design and features a rotating 1.3 megapixel camera.
While some of the mobile
manufacturers are trying to license RIM's BlackBerry back-end technology for delivering push e-mail directly to phone inboxes,
Samsung seems to have established a partnership with RIM by offering an actual BlackBerry e-mail interface right on the phone, and licensing
RIM's SureType text keypad design as well.
The T719 features the exact same key layout as the BlackBerry 7100-series, right down to the icons on the keys. Besides the rotating 1.3 megapixel camera, the phone features Bluetooth connectivity, speaker-independent voice control, and 25MB internal memory.
Unfortunately,
Samsung T719 lacks 3G technology and a memory card slot, which is rather strange knowing that it features a 1.3 megapixel camera, and only 25MB internal memory. Anyway, its highlight seems to be the thin design, which reminds of the popular
RAZR.
