The rollout for Galaxy S5 has already begun

It looks like Galaxy Note 4, Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, won’t be getting the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade by the end of the year.

Although the South Korean company has already kicked off the rollout of the Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S5, this will be the only smartphone to get it this year.

It’s also worth mentioning that Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy S5 will only be available in a few countries this year. Unfortunately, the handset maker is still mum on when and where Lollipop for Galaxy S5 will arrive in the coming weeks.

We do know for sure that Samsung Galaxy S5 owners in Poland can now download and install Android 5.0 Lollipop update via Samsung Kies desktop software.

Even though we assumed other European countries may receive the same treatment in the coming days, it looks like the next region where Samsung plans to deploy Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy S5 is South Korea.

Samsung Galaxy S5 is getting Android 5.0 Lollipop on South Korea today

According to Reuters tech industry correspondent Vincent Se Young Lee, Samsung will start rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy S5 this Friday. He also claims Samsung confirms once again that the update has been pushed in Poland since yesterday.

No other countries have been confirmed for the rollout of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the coming weeks, but there are new details on the launch of the upgrade for other Samsung smartphones.

For example, the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 4 are now expected to receive the Lollipop update sometime in “early 2015.”

But these are not the only Samsung smartphones to receive the upgrade next year. One of the company’s previous flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S4 has also been confirmed to get Android 5.0 Lollipop in Q1 2015.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling when exactly these smartphone will be upgraded to Lollipop and considering carrier-branded devices will receive the update much later, those who own the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 4 will probably have to wait a few months.

There’s one other smartphone that’s supposed to be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop in early 2015 and that’s the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, which is the slightly upgraded version of the Galaxy S5.

Although this is good news for Samsung Galaxy owners, we recommend our readers to take it with a pinch of salt until the handset makers comes forward with an official statement. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
