South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics hasn’t released a new Windows Phone handset for quite some time now, but it seems that the company is planning one for April this year, and that Verizon Wireless will be the carrier.

Called Samsung ATIV SE, the device has been spotted online a few times before, and even made it in a leaked press photo, though specific details on what it will have to offer to users haven’t been unveiled until now.

A recent article on The Verge, however, claims that the upcoming smartphone will arrive in April without the new Windows Phone 8.1 operating system loaded on top, despite the fact that Microsoft will announce the OS version in a matter of days.

The phone was previously said to feature the new platform iteration on top when brought to the market, but it appears that it will run Windows Phone 8 instead.

Moreover, the new ATIV SE is said to feature the same looks as the Samsung Galaxy S4, and to come to the market with the same 5-inch full HD touchscreen display as the Android flagship.

On top of that, a 13-megapixel camera should be included on its back, along with a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside, supposedly paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. A microSD memory card slot will also be available for its users.

No official confirmation on this has been provided as of now, and we’ll take the info with a grain of salt for the time being. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
