Major carrier Rogers announced a few days ago it would exclusively offer the Nokia Lumia 920 in Canada. The smartphone will only be available in black, and Rogers will be the only operator to offer the Lumia 920 in the country.

TELUS, Bell and other Canadian carriers will only sell the Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 device, though this has yet to be confirmed by the Finnish carrier.

Rogers is expected to launch no less than four Windows Phone 8 devices by the end of the year, but for the time being it's unclear how many handsets will be exclusive to this major carrier.

According to MobileSyrup, after launching the Lumia 920, Rogers plans to release the Samsung Ativ S as well.

There are no details on release date and pricing options yet, but rumor has it the Ativ S will hit shelves in November for a price that will be disclosed closer to launch.

This would be the third Windows Phone 8 device launched at Rogers, as the carrier already confirmed the upcoming availability of HTC Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 920.

Samsung Ativ S is the next-generation Windows Phone released by the South Korean company and will be equipped with a 1.5 GHz Krait dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Unlike previous Windows Phone devices, the Ativ S comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). It also offers 16 or 32GB of internal memory, depending on the model.

On the back, the smartphone boasts an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 1.9-megapixel camera for video calls.

Another strong point of the Ativ S is the large 4.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x1280 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.
