With Nokia struggling to replenish Lumia 920 stocks, HTC and Samsung would be the real winners of the Windows Phone 8 race.

Although Nokia Lumia 920 is arguably the best-selling Windows Phone 8 handset available on the market, word is that the smartphone was available in limited quantities globally, which is why the Finnish company was unable to meet the high demand.

All in all, it looks like Windows Phone fans tired of waiting for the Lumia 920 have turned to other devices, such as the HTC 8X.

However, there’s a new WP8-based superphone coming on the market, which will put more pressure on Nokia, the Samsung Ativ S.

Even though the latest rumors pointed to a possible delay of the Ativ S for February 2013, it looks like the smartphone has just landed in Austria.

WPCentral reports that Samsung Ativ S is now available for free with new 2-year agreements via T-Mobile Austria. Check it out here.

The Ativ S was slightly delayed in the UK, but it is expected to hit shelves any moment now. The device will also reach Canadian shores by the end of this week and it will go on sale simultaneously at Rogers and Bell Mobility carriers.

With a powerful 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, the Ativ S is one of the few Windows Phone 8 devices that can successfully compete with Nokia’s Lumia 920 superphone.

The smartphone also boasts a hyper-vibrant 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

On the back, the Samsung Ativ S sports an impressive 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 1.9-megapixel camera for video calls.
