So far only an AMD powered model has been available on the market

Samsung seems to have quietly updated its ATIV Book 9 Lite thin-and-light notebook with Intel processors.

Previously, the 13.3-inch ATIV was only available with an AMD CPU, but new models, fitted with Intel Core i3-4020Y (Haswell) dual-core chips complete with Intel HD 4400 integrated graphics, have shown up in a German online shop CyberPort.

Replacing the usual AMD A6-1450 combined Radeon HD 8250 with the new Intel chips should provide a faster processing performance. To see the difference, note that in the PassMark benchmarks the Intel chip scored 2,333 points, while the AMD snatched only 1,653.

Apart from that, the ATIV 9 Lite remains the same, bundling a 13.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The selection of ports includes two USBs, micro HDMI, mini VGA, wired LAN port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and stereo speakers.

The Intel powered ATIV Book 9 Lite costs €700 / $900, which a little bit more expensive than the ADM version that shipped for €600 / $810. So far I don’t know whether the Intel model comes to the US or not.
