Samsung pulled the veil off its ATIV Book 9 2014 Edition notebook back at CES 2014, but now the tech company is bringing the lappy to European markets, specifically UK and Ireland.

The new device has a 15.6-inch screen with a pretty fab resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Sammy points out it's 20% brighter and has 125% higher definition than the previous generation).

Customers are given the choice between an Intel Core i5 or Intel i7 UVL processor to be fitted under the bonnet, complete with Intel HD 4400 Graphics, 8GB of RAM and hefty 1024GB SSD. In terms of operating systems, Samsung bundled the notebook with Windows 8.

This might be one of the last laptops we will see to come out of Samsung running on the Windows OS. A recent report coming out of Asia claimed the tech giant will be focusing on Chromebooks from now on, abandoning Windows altogether.

We can’t say if that’s good news or not, but you might want to look into this offering if you’re a fan of both Samsung and Windows.

Moving on the new Ativ Book 9 also has 2 USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0, HDMI, mini VGA port, RJ45 Ethernet port and a security lock slot.

Other highlights of the new lappy are the certified ergonomically designed keyboard which should improve your average laptop typing experience. Sammy pre-bundles the notebook with its own SPlayer+, which is a lossless audio player that works in concert with a Wolfson DAC chip.

Another important aspect is the battery life and Sammy says the laptop should provide a 14-hour battery life cycle, which is pretty impressive for a laptop and reason enough to keep an eye out for this particular product.

Samsung also announced the ATIV Book 9 2014 Edition will be made available in Solid Black, starting February 2014.
