Samsung's such a huge company, involved in so many areas of the consumer electronics market, that not a week goes by (sometimes, not even a day) without some new announcement regarding one of the company's products. And today we'll be talking about the YP-P2 and the YP-T10, a couple of PMPs that were supposed to be subjected to a pretty "hush-hush" policy by the Korean company, but managed to somehow find their way onto the
Internet.
Thus, although various leaks (either pictures or technical data) that have occurred over the past few months have unveiled pretty much everything that there was to know about these two devices, we'll go over everything one more time, although now based on much more factual data. Thus, according to the people over at
PC Mag, who've had the chance to talk directly to Samsung's representatives, the two new models, P2 and T10, will provide enhanced playback capabilities, including here WMV9 and MPEG-4 video clips, MP3 and WMA audio files, as well as JPEG storage/display capabilities.
Moreover, both players will incorporate an FM tuner and a microphone for voice-recording. Moreover, the P2 will sport a large 3-inch touchscreen display, capable of outputting a 480 x 272 resolution, and will be available in 4 and 8 GB versions, as well as black, white and burgundy. On the other hand, the T10 (the successor of the popular T9 model,
reviewed by Softpedia) will have an even sleeker body, with a width of just 0.3 inches (7 millimeters) and a 2-inch QVGA display.
However, perhaps the most important selling point each of these two players provide is represented by the fact that they're both Bluetooth-enabled, meaning that users will be able to listen to music sans any wires, via the Korean company's own Bluetooth headphones and speakers.
There's no pricing details regarding Samsung's players for the time being, but it would seem that they'll hit the shelves sometime around September (when we hope to get our gadget-frenzied hands on one of these units).
We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed.
