Samsung Electronics America is ready to launch their Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC) Q1P model, which supports Windows Vista. This is Samsung's first UMPC to qualify for Windows Vista certification.

The Q1P version represents a truly ultra-mobile device that provides the power of a PC, but can be accessed anytime, anywhere, even when there is no room for desktop and laptop PCs. Resembling hi-tech PDA designs and intended as as a companion PC, the Q1 UMPC offers an innovative way to combine all those powerful PC features with with multimedia versatility and advanced connectivity.

The Q1P integrates a 1GHz Intel Pentium CPU, 60MB of hard drive space and 1GB of RAM in order to facilitate a smooth operation for Windows Vista. The Q1P model also offers increased battery life of approximately two and a half hours, and coupled with faster speeds, flexibility and mobile functionality, this product is ready to redefine the portability standards. Q1P is equipped with a brilliant 7" wide LCD touch screen, while an easy-to-use "inking" feature allows data to be directly input through the touch screen, making it ideal for handwriting. The handwritten data can also be transferred to regular text.

The Q1P with Windows Vista is now available for $1,299 and can be purchased through a variety of retail and e-tail outlets including Best Buy, CDW, CompUSA, NewEgg.com, Circuit City.com, Buy.com and Costco.com.
