Due to the increasing popularity of small-sized, low-power, portable computer systems, also known as netbooks, PC vendors worldwide are continuing to refresh their product lineup with the introduction of new models. Such is the case with Samsung, which is currently expected to officially announce a new netbook system, dubbed NC310, which will provide customers with an alternative to the flood of 10-inch netbooks currently available on the market. There are few details to go on, at this time. However, at first glance, this new Samsung netbook appears to boast a specification list similar to that of many other models on the market.

According to the details that have recently surfaced on akihabaranews, the upcoming Samsung netbook will boast a 10.1-inch display, weigh 1.23kg and deliver an impressive 5 hours of battery life. Aside from that, the system is built with Bluetooth, HSDPA, WiBRO, WiFi b/g, 1,3MP webcam, 1GB of RAM memory and a storage capacity of 160GB. Spec-wise, the NC310 seems relatively similar to many 10-inch netbooks currently available on the market. Unfortunately, we don't have any details on the system's chipset and processor, which will likely be either from Intel or Via Technologies.

From what we can see in the provided picture, the NC310 will be offered in a range of color options. Unfortunately, that is pretty much all we have on the new Samsung netbook at this time. The company is expected to officially launch the product in the near future, by which time we should also have a more extensive specification list, which will hopefully include details on the system pricing.

With the launch of Samsung’s new netbook, it will be interesting to see if the company will continue to use VIA solutions or plans to further expand its lineup of Intel-based netbook systems.
