South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has brought another handset on the European market, the Samsung MBP200 micro-projector. The device was originally announced to start shipping in May and, although it has been delayed two months, it has finally reached the shelves in Europe, or at least in Germany, as the company announced.

The new MBP200 micro-projector, which was announced for the first time back in March, comes towards enthusiasts with a 2.2-inch QVGA display that boasts a 320 x 240 pixel resolution, while also sporting a touch-sensitive keypad, a 3.5mm Standard Stereo Earphone Jack, and the possibility to project bright images at HVGA resolution (480 x 320 pixels).

The feature list of the mobile projector also shows that the device packs a file viewer (with Adobe PDF - .pdf, MS PowerPoint - .ppt, MS Word - .doc, MS Excel - .xls, Text - .txt file format support), picture viewer (with support for JPEG, GIF, Animated GIF, MBP file formats), music player (supports MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC, WAV formats) and video player (supporting Video CODEC: DivX, Xvid, WMV9 Simple Profile, MPEG-2, MPEG-4; Audio CODEC: MP3, AAC, WMA file types).

The new Samsung MBP200 micro-projector measures 107.3 x 48.8 x 19 mm and weighs 160 g. The device comes to the market with a microSD memory card slot, offering users the possibility to carry around up to 16GB worth of different types of files, which can then be easily projected on different surfaces when necessary.

The price tag for the Samsung MBP200 in Germany has been set at €499 (about $700). For the time being, there are no details regarding the mobile projector's availability on other markets, yet more info should become available in the near future, so stay tuned to learn the news. Hopefully some more details on the Samsung i7410 projector-phone will also surface in the not-too-distant future.
