Over the past few years, Samson has managed to come up with some pretty exciting audio/video offerings (especially as far as their recorders are concerned), and now, they're back with yet another cool product, this time around targeting public speakers.

What we're talking about here is Samson's Expedition 40iw wireless portable PA system, the company's first to feature a built-in wireless microphone system and a rechargeable battery, that will enable users to employ the Expedition just about wherever they might be at any given moment.

The portable, yet powerful, XP40iw pumps out 40 watts of clear, full-range sound from a lightweight Class D amplifier and features a 6-inch woofer with titanium dome compression driver.

Users can also plug in additional mics or instruments to the XP40wi’s two channel inputs or link two XP40wi systems together for stereo sound, a feature that will leverage quite well the fact that this thing packs a wireless microphone (setting up a stage for an impromptu performance has never been easier).

The features listed above, coupled with an onboard iPod dock, integrated top handle and stand mount, paint the picture of a very versatile solution, that will certainly prove its worth in a variety of situations.

“The XP40iw sound system is perfect for any occasion where great sound and portability are a must,” said Mark Wilder, Director of Marketing for Samson Technologies.

”Setup is a snap so it’s easy to use at a backyard party Saturday night and to fire up the troops at a Monday morning sales meeting,” added Mr. Wilder.

The Samson Expedition XP40wi is available now in Best Buy stores and online at Bestbuy.com for $299.99, which is not even that high a price, especially if you're the type of person actively involved in organizing events for the classroom, pool parties, karaoke, meetings, tailgating and more.
