Smb4K, an SMB/CIFS (Windows) share browser for KDE that uses the Samba software suite to access the SMB and CIFS shares of the local network neighborhood, is now at version 1.0.9.

Smb4K 1.0.9 features scanning for (active) workgroups, hosts, and shares, support of the CIFS (Linux) and SMBFS (FreeBSD) file systems, mounting and unmounting of shares (using the KAuth framework), auto-detection of external mounts and unmounts, and much more.

This is just a simple maintenance update, and it was released to fix the handling of localized shell output.

“With non-English languages the change introduced in version 1.0.8 might not work correctly, because e.g. umlauts are not recognized and the shell output is truncated. Setting the language to "en_US.UTF-8" fixes this problem.” reads the changelog.
