Samba 4.0.12, an app that seamlessly integrates Linux/Unix servers and desktops into Active Directory environments using the winbind daemon, is now available for download and testing.
According to the developers, this latest version is a very small entry and more of a maintenance release for this particular branch, designed to take care of a few minor problems.
The release notes for Samba 4.0.12 say that the most important change in this latest release (which is not the latest stable version available), is a fix for a bug. RW Deny for a specific user was not overriding the RW Allow for a group. This problem has been corrected.
Also, the 32-bit macros breaking strict aliasing have been removed, and support has been added for the KEYRING ccache type. Check the official announcement for a complete list of changes and bug fixes.
