Director James Cameron has already announced the release dates of the 2 “Avatar” sequels he’s planning but, from what leading man Sam Worthington is telling the media, the script is not even done yet. Still, there are some pretty interesting things to look forward to.

Worthington, who plays Jake Sully in the original film, recently sat down with MovieFone to speak of what fans could expect from the upcoming sequels – and he hints they’re to expect the films to be bigger and better than the first.

However, the second film is, for the time being, all in Cameron’s head because the script is not even close to being done, the Australian actor reveals.

“We’ve been discussing that with Jim,” Sam says of the possible return of Giovanni Ribisi’s character to Pandora.

“He had some ideas he told us while we were filming, which were really cool and out there. At the moment, he’s still writing what he calls ‘The Bible’ and detailing the world,” the actor shares.

“Once he’s detailed the world – more so than it’s already detailed in his big brain, anyway – then he said he can write the script and we can go explore the world – things like going underwater… going in the floating mountains,” the star says.

While it would be expected for Cameron to write Worthington’s character – who is now a Na’vi, as fans must know from the first film – to detail his life as a married Avatar, the actor says fans should probably be prepared for a surprise of some sort.

“But there is something to [the notion of being] in a genetically-engineered body now, which he is. Is there a ‘use by’ date on it? I don’t know,” Worthington teases.

Then, there’s the question of where the new threat for Pandora may come from in this second film. Now that humans are out of the picture, will Cameron bring them back with a vengeance, as the saying goes, or will danger come from an entirely different direction?

“We can look at our world again and see that we know we’re hurting the environment, and we know we can do things about it. But what else are we doing that’s wrong so it can reflect on our own life?” Sam says.

“Avatar 2” is out in December 2014, while the third will be released one year later, in December 2015.
