Here go our hopes to see Hunter Parrish or even Garrett Hedlund as Finnick Odair in “The Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire.” New reports are saying Sam Claflin is officially the frontrunner.

If the name doesn't ring a bell but you have a vague feeling you've seen him somewhere before, that must be because you saw “Snow White and the Huntsman.”

We weren't really impressed with him in that particular movie, but we hear he has potential, so mayhaps he could make a convincing Finnick, who has to be both handsome and bold. And very audacious as well.

JustJared has more details on the highly anticipated production:

“Oscar winner Melissa Leo is the frontrunner for the role of Mags, while Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub is being courted for the role of Beetee,” JJ writes.

Amanda Plummer has been officially cast as Wiress, while Philip Seymour Hoffman will play Plutarch Heavensbee, as we also informed you some time ago.

Hmm....I don't really know what to think. I was really hoping for Garrett or even Grant Gustin but I never even knew Sam was interested in the role. He must be good since he got cast. I'm looking back at Jenn and Josh's performances along with Woody and they were phenomenal so I hope that our director's not making a mistake. Sam just looks a little too old and not the part.
