Salora is mostly known on the Indian smartphone market, though the company is not among the most prolific handset makers in the country.

India has been one of the most important emerging markets for important brands such as Nokia, Samsung, Lenovo and others. However, the competition is fierce on the smartphone market as India prides itself on quite a slew of native handset makers.

Salora is one of the many Indian companies that are trying to sell its products, but for that they need to come out with something innovative that might attract customers into buying its devices.

The POWERMaxx smartphone is trying to come up with something new on the Indian market, a high capacity 3200 mAh battery that promises very long usage time.

Unfortunately, this is one of the few interesting aspects of Salora POWERMaxx handset. The smartphone will ship will Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, but Salora promises that a Jelly Bean upgrade will be available soon after launch.

Furthermore, the smartphone is equipped with a 1 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Another strong point of the POWERMaxx is the 4.5-inch qHD LCD IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

On the back, the device packs an enhanced 8-megapixel rear photo snapper, while on the front there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.

The smartphone is made of metal alloy and features dual Mic design for noise cancellation. It also offers dual SIM (3G + 3G) capability, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and built-in GPS.

According to AndroidOS, Salora POWERMaxx will be available for purchase in India for Rs 15,999 outright, which is about $295 or €225. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
