14 DAY TRIAL // Kelly McGrevey from Norton, Ohio weighs 230 lbs. (104.3 kg) but never before in her life was she told that her weight could prevent her from getting a fake tan at one of the many salons around – until she stepped into the Aloha Tanning salon.
Not only was she refused service because of her weight but, she tells the media, as the video below will confirm, she was informed of a weight policy only after she’d paid for the service she was denied.
When she asked for a refund, she was flatly refused so she was left with no other choice than to go to the police and then the press to get her story out there.
“I was just so shocked and embarrassed and humiliated,” she says adding that she “just want[s] her money back.”
In response, the salon owner tells her she won’t get a refund, but she can dispute the charge with her credit card company.
