In September 2007, Salma Hayek gave birth to daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault, whom she had with then fiancé PPR CEO François-Henri Pinault. Since then, the actress has been keeping busy being a mom and, from what she recently revealed during an interview, shooing away the ghosts that her daughter sees and speaks to in three different languages.

While on Rachel Ray’s TV show, Salma spoke about her daughter and revealed that she was confident she had somehow developed a sixth sense, as People reports.

Not only does Valentina see ghosts, but she even addresses them in three different languages (English, Spanish and French, respectively) just to make sure she gets through to them just in case they happen to be of one of these nationalities.

“Last night she saw a ghost. I’m convinced,” Hayek said. “Last night she woke up and her eyes were open. And she’s looking at one specific point and she’s going, ‘No no no no, au revoir,’ which means goodbye in French… And she’s looking at someone, but there’s no one there.” the actress explained.

While this might seem mildly funny, Salma swore it was one of the worst experiences of her life, scaring her to death. “I was so scared, and I’m like, ‘Yes, au revoir, whoever you are, get out!’ And then she started saying it in English: ‘Bye bye, bye bye!’ I guess she was trying in different languages to see what nationality this ghost was to go away. It was terrifying!” Salma further pointed out.

Just recently, the actress made waves when she disclosed that, during a trip to Sierra Leone as a UNICEF ambassador, she breastfed another woman’s baby who was hungry and crying because of it. While most refused to believe her story, a few hours afterwards, a video showing the actress nursing the baby appeared online and confirmed that she was not exaggerating the facts.

“It’s about women sticking together and we really need to help the children in any way we can. It is the best thing you can do for your child, not only the bonding, that’s how you build the immune system, so in a country like Africa imagine how important it is for the mothers to do that.” Hayek pointed out about her much debated gesture, speaking to ContactMusic.
